Message Outline
Theme: God Loves Me.
Text: Eph 2:1-10
#1 God’s love: Saw my desperate condition.
- Humanity is dead.
- Humanity’s enslaved.
- Humanity is condemned.
#2 God’s Love: The Cure for Our Condition
Humanity is enslaved to three forces over which we have no control:
The world
The devil
Our flesh
- What has God done?
- Why did God do it?
#3 God’s Love: We are Made Right By Grace
#4 God’s love impacts my present (Eph 2:10)
Realizing God loves me…
Produces obedience to His Will (1 John 4:9-10; John 14:15)
Compels me to proclaim His works (2 Cor 5:14-21; Jn 20:21)
Glorifies God (John 15:8)
Results in His glory being revealed to others (1 Pet 2:11-12)
Reflection Question
In Ephesians 2:10, we are said to be Christ’s workmanship. What should that look like in the life of a believer?
Next Steps….
Meditate On Ephesians 2:8-10
8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. 10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
Who do I know that really needs to hear the “Good News” of God’s love in Christ?
I commit myself to pray (1) regularly for this person to come to know Jesus and (2) that I will be asking God for opportunities to share what God has done for them through Jesus.
