May we, as Your people, learn the way of ‘keeping in step with Your Spirit’.
Pour out Your Holy Spirit on us and make us more like Jesus, I pray. Revive
us Lord! (Galatians 5:25)
Pray that we will be a broken and repentant people before the Lord. Ask God to
give us the gift of tears as a sign that He is softening our hearts. Pray that as
the people of God, we will learn what it means to seek Him with all of our
hearts and walk in His ways. (Psalm 119:2)
Pray that we will be filled with such passion for Him that we will seek Him,
His kingdom and His righteousness –first. (Matthew 6:33)
Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to us the ways and the things
that we seek first instead of Him, that keep us from truly drawing near to God.
Father, I lift up our elders and pastors to You, and I ask that as they lead us
they will be given “wisdom that is from heaven, that is pure, peace-loving,
considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere”.
(James 3:17) Pour out Your Holy Spirit on them, Lord, that they might minister
among us with great power and wisdom.
