Silence: 2 minutes /Spend time in prayer and silence with God, asking Him to meet with you and speak to you.
Genesis 18:1-15, 21:1-7
Father God, we affirm that the Biblical Gospel, the good news of Your salvation, is Your enduring message to our world. This good news must be boldly proclaimed, wherever possible…because it is God’s power for salvation and we are under obligation to make it known. Yet, we confess that we ourselves have sometimes trivialized the Gospel. We repent that the narrowness of our concerns and vision has often kept us from proclaiming the lordship of Jesus Christ over all of life. We repent of all self-confident attempts to either evangelize in our own strength or to dictate to the Holy Spirit. We rejoice that You, the living God, did not abandon us to our lostness and despair but came after us in Jesus Christ to rescue and remake us. To those who repent and believe in Christ, You grant a share in the new creation. You give us new life, which includes the forgiveness of our sins and the indwelling, transforming power of His Spirit. Father, thank You for forgiving us and transforming us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
The Our Father (slowly pray this)
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever, Amen.
