ENCOUNTER WITH GOD – MARCH 20-21

Silence and Centering     Pause for 2 Minutes of Silence

“Be still, and know that I am God; – Psalm 46:10

Confession:

God of mercy, You sent Jesus Christ to search for and save the lost. We confess that we, too, have wandered away from You. We are taken off path by pride and selfishness. We have failed to love the way You have loved us. We have ignored Your truth and teachings. Oh God, have mercy on us. Forgive us our sinful ways and turn us towards Your path of righteousness through Your Son, Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.

Scripture Reading:

Hebrews 5:5-10

In the same way, Christ did not take on himself the glory of becoming a high priest. But God said to him,

“You are my Son;
    today I have become your Father.”[a]

And he says in another place,

“You are a priest forever,
    in the order of Melchizedek.”[b]

During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him 10 and was designated by God to be high priest in the order of Melchizedek.

The Our Father (slowly pray this)
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever, Amen.
